I just finished putting away the very last of my things in my new home and breaking down the boxes. I began the unpacking last Wednesday and have been at it every day, except Sunday. I actually had most stuff put away by the end of last week, but today I did a major purge and managed to throw out three boxes worth of stuff. Nothing feels better than throwing stuff away. It’s so freeing, don’t you think?
Anyway, due to the smoke and the unpacking my running week didn’t go quite as well as I’d planned. I did manage to get in three great runs last week, including my 6-mile long run (finally!), which I think makes up for my lack of mileage. I also spent one full day sleeping, which I’m told is a sign of overtraining so I think it’s a good thing that I took it a little easy this week and put in my all when I did have a chance to run.
So, here’s my stats for this past week:
Mileage: 11.24
Average Pace: 11:20 (5 seconds slower than last week)
Total Training Miles: 77.64
I also noticed this week that my pace increased again. I think this is because all of my runs were longer than in the weeks when I had a faster pace. I’ve begun to see a pattern in my paces – when I run 3 miles or less, I run at about 10:30 and I add about 10 to 30 seconds per mile after that. I know that’s probably common sense, but it was strange to me.
OK then, have a great week of running. This week I’m going to try to get in at least 15 miles. No more slacking!
